LIMB Lab Locomotion & Imaging for Musculoskeletal Biomechanics

Previous Education: M.Sc. Biomedical Engineering, University of Calgary (Fall 2025); B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering & Certificate in Computing, University of Saskatchewan (Spring 2023)

Pronouns: He/Him

Title/Current Position: 1st-year Ph.D. Student in Biomedical Engineering, co-supervised by Dr. Sarah Manske

Research: Justen’s Ph.D. work involves evaluating knee kinematics and changes in joint contact following an ACL rupture using dual fluoroscopy.

Justen’s M.Sc. work evaluated the utility of weight-bearing computed tomography in the study of carpal biomechanics to better understand how load-bearing impacts carpal bone position. This work involved measuring 3D carpal alignment, kinematics, and contact patterns between the carpal bones.

Hobbies: Soccer, basketball, and ultimate frisbee
